I'm So Lucky And Here's Why You Are Too

I feel like a very lucky person in this world.
But at times I have been ungrateful.
When I was sick with cancer I certainly didn’t feel grateful.
When they replaced my hip and I was told I would never play soccer or ice hockey again, I sure as heck wasn’t grateful.
When the hip replacement got infected during my second last round of chemo-therapy and I spent another 2 years in and out of hospital for 20 operations, I wasn’t grateful at all.
Now, over 10 years since the last operation on my hip – I’m grateful for everything that happened.
Sure it could have been a bit simpler, it could have been less painful or it could have not happened at all.
It could have also been worse, taken longer, been more painful and it could have killed me.
So now that all the options are on the table, let me tell you why I’m so damn lucky and so are you.
I am alive and so are you.
I am breathing and so are you.
My heart is beating and so is yours.
That means that up until the moment you are reading this, all of your experiences have been perfect.
Perfect to lead you to this moment.
This means that right now, no matter what else is happening, we all have an incredible opportunity.
That opportunity is to feel gratefulness and peace.
Sometimes it’s easy to get lost in whatever we are experiencing and forget all that we have in life.
All you have to do is focus on what you are grateful for and you will find the secret that the whole world is looking for but not everybody finds.
That’s how you win life, be grateful – rinse and repeat!
So what are you grateful for today?
I like using the 5 minute journal to be reminded to write what I’m grateful for everyday.
Peace out,
Adam
